Flavors Of Entanglement is Alanis Morissette's first release since her break-up with Hollywood hunk Ryan Reynolds (who has taken up with Scarlett Johansson). Unsurprisingly, she uses the album to vent her grief and sadness. Produced and co-wrote by Guy Sigsworth (who's worked with Bjork and Madonna),
Flavors Of Entanglement has more of an eastern, new age sound as opposed to the direct in-your-face rock songs of her earlier career. The result is more electronic, percussive, and fuller sound, perhaps reflecting Alanis' maturity as both an artist and a woman. Rolling Stone says, "Scarjo may have her man, but Morissette has something Johansson doesn't: a heartfelt record."
Flavors Of Entanglement is also available in a Deluxe Edition which contains five more songs.
CD released June 10, 2008.
