Wreck of the Day is the debut album from twenty-year-old Anna Nalick. She's been compared to numerous other female singer/songwriters including Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Jewel, Alanis Morissette, and Sarah McLachlan among others. The album begins with her melodic, imagery-filled first single, "Breathe (2 A.M.)," which was prominently featured on on the television show
Joan of Arcadia. It's a mix of confessional or introspective songs that run from piano/acoustic to light rock. The amazon.com reviewer says, "There's a naturalness and urgency to her singing that saves every chorus and verse from clouding over. Now that she's cautiously alighted into pop territory, sophisticated listeners will do well to dust off their welcome mats." This CD is still one of our favorites.
CD released April 12, 2005.
