This Kind of Love finds Carly Simon returning to both her singing and songwriting skills.
This Kind of Love features ten original songs she wrote or co-wrote. To "jazz" it up, she's added Brazilian rhythms behind her songs, not to provide a samba feel, but more of a world music type of sound. It's ultimately a personal album for Carly, mostly laid back and intimate, swaying beneath the percussive background. All Music says, "For Carly Simon's fans, this will ultimately be a most welcome return to her songwriting form. This is the best album of mostly original material she's cut since 1979's
Spy."
CD released April 29, 2008.
