When Enya first started recording
And Winter Came, her eighth studio release, it was intended to be a Christmas album, but after recording a few songs, she decided to dedicate it to the whole winter season. So
And Winter Came contains Christmas songs such as her version of "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" and "Oiche Chiuin," which is "Silent Night" sung in the ancient language of Gaeilge. In addition to these, she brings her ethereal and magical voice to songs that bring forth the majestry and serenity of the winter season.
