Dig Out Your Soul by Oasis

With Dig Out Your Soul, Oasis tries to return to the sound that launched their famous careers, backed with their shameless self-absorption and swagger. The first single from the album, "The Shock Of The Lightning," is a full-blown rock sound in the mode of early Noel Gallagher songs, full of energy and riffs that sets the tone for the rest of the album. With their persisent Beatles allusions, Oasis throws themselves back into their past in an effort to reclaim those glory days. All Music says, "This is the sound of a mature yet restless rock band: all the brawn comes from the guitars, all the snarl comes from Liam Gallagher's vocals, who no longer sounds like a young punk but an aged, battered brawler who wears his scars proudly, which is a sentiment that can apply to the band itself. They're now survivors, filling out the vintage threads they've always worn with muscle and unapologetic style."

Dig Out Your Soul is also available in a CD/DVD Special Edition which includes a DVD with a 28-minute making of the album, as well as a making of "The Shock Of The Lightning" video. It also includes a 24-page bound booklet.

CD released October 6, 2008.
