Rob Thomas, lead singer for Matchbox Twenty and writer/vocalist of the Santana hit, "Smooth," now releases his first solo album.
Something to Be features the first hit single from the album, "Lonely No More," as well as other songs that are a mix of different styles, from pop sounds similar to Matchbox 20 to more sweeping or rock-oriented songs, often dealing with love that's gone wrong in some way. Rob Thomas wrote much of the album with longtime Matchbox Twenty producer Matt Serletic.
Something to Be is released in DualDisc format which will feature the full album on the CD side and over 20 minutes of exclusive video material on the DVD side, which will also include all 12 songs in 5.1 multichannel surround sound. The DVD content will feature an "In Session" behind the scenes documentary -- including footage of recording and songwriting sessions for the album -- plus a photo gallery, lyrics, and more.
CD released April 19, 2005.
